What better icon of Florence could contain in itself the excellence of the territory? Brunelleschi’s dome, beloved by tourists from around the world, in being reproduced in scale on the occasion of Expo 2015, in an absolutely modern style. Brunelleschi dome model will be in place until October 31st, 2015.
Building Brunelleschi Dome model
Work for the construction of the model was started in the “courtyard of the Dogana” of Palazzo Vecchio, where the structure of “The Dome” will be on display until October 31. The dome is eight feet high and six wide, a space where visitors can immerse themselves in a sensory journey to discover the city from April 30, the day when the work will be inaugurated.
“If in the original dome you can admire the frescoes by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari, inside I-Dome high-technology 360 degrees video mapping will give visitors an emotional experience with images, sounds and atmospheres that recall the resourcefulness and know-how of this territory”, said Mario Curia, managing director of PromoFirenze.
“Visitors will get to know the city interacting with touch screen, in which thematic videos will tell us about Florentine and Tuscan excellence in the world,” added Claudio Bianchi, president of PromoFirenze.
In November, I-Dome will cross the Italian borders to participate in a road show that will end in the next few years, in 2020, when the dome media will still be the star of Expo, not in Italy, but in Dubai.
