florence apartments

When planning your trip to Italy, have you ever considered to lodge in something different from a hotel? Did you even try to search for Florence apartments for rent? As a tourist guide, providing private tours in Florence, I am used to pick up my customers at 4 and 5-star hotels. But I have to say that, lately, it happens quite often that they ask me to pick them up at apartments, so I decided to investigate. Also because, when I meet them, they are all very happy of their … [Read more...] about Florence apartments for rent – Your best choice

inferno tour

A tour which is becoming more and more popular in Florence, is the Dan Brown's Inferno tour. The book by Dan Brown (and the film by Ron Howard) have Florence as the main stage, touching many amazing points of interest. Most of the story unfolds in Palazzo Vecchio, in the Hall of the 500 and through the secret passages, but the book also mentions the Badia Fiorentina, the Boboli Gardens, the Vasari Corridor, the Uffizi Gallery, the house and church of Dante, the Duomo and the Baptistery of San … [Read more...] about Inferno tour in Florence – Pick the best

Donatello’s Marzocco – Symbol of Florence

December 17, 2015 By Andrea 1 Comment

Donatello's Marzocco

Donatello's Marzocco is a statue on display at the Bargello Museum, overlooked by most people. And I can't say it's in an unfortunate position because it stands exactly in the center of the most important room of the museum. The fact is that, unfortunately, that room displays such great works, like Donatello's Bronze David, Verrocchio's David, Donatello St George and the panels by Brunelleschi and Ghiberti that competed to be awarded the Baptistery North Doors, that it's hard to focus on the … [Read more...] about Donatello’s Marzocco – Symbol of Florence
